Our Campus is a dynamic environment within 430 acres of parkland, home to over 60 companies, 2,000 employees and 300 academic researchers. I would like some lab space to test an idea - what support do you provide for young companies?
Looking for hot-benching space for a few key experiments or to accommodate a growing team? LiveLabs provides fully serviced and equipped labs, ideal for molecular biology and cell culture work and write-up space on short-term memberships (as little as 3 months initial term). What’s more you’ll get all the support you need to help supercharge your discovery.

Founded and developed at the Babraham Research Campus in 2018, Accelerate@Babraham, the Campus’ pre-seed company support programme, was created out of a desire to support and nurture early-stage life science ventures attempting to navigate this tough and fast-moving sector.
The programme, which each year offers five early-stage life science start-ups the chance to join the Babraham Research Campus community, brings to bear an unrivalled network of experts, mentors, investors, data-driven business support, lab space and funding to equip new enterprises with the skills, confidence, connections to enable success.
What type of lab and office space do you provide?
We are committed to developing adaptable spaces, led by our experts in lab/office building design, to support all stages of life science venture – from our flexible, co-working bench space – LiveLabs – to nurture and accelerate an idea – to fully fitted, high-tech lab and office space for scale-ups. The Campus provides over 350,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art facilities to meet the demands of life science start-ups and more established businesses which are developing technologies or products of relevance to human healthcare and the pharmaceutical sector.
We have multi-occupancy buildings, ideal for start-ups, which are designed to support the early stage needs of new life-science ventures by providing easy-access laboratory and office space – suitable for both chemistry and molecular biology – in units from approximately 600 sq ft on short-term flexible leases.
We have R&D buildings on Campus ranging from 8,000 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft, consisting of bespoke R&D laboratory and office space, which can be tailored to suit both chemistry and molecular biology set ups, while also providing the key collaborative spaces and facilities required for companies wishing to provide their growing workforces with the high quality experience they need to thrive.
